I belong to a book discussion group on Zoom which just read a novel by Gwen Florio. She attended the meeting and mentioned that she had been a reporter for a newspaper in Missoula. I asked her if she knew you. The most wonderful smile lit up her face as she told us how wonderful you and what you do for young people in Montana. So I am sending you her regards from Florida and mine from North Carolina. It is a pleasure to read your blog.
This looks like a great lineup. Wish I lived closer.
I wish I could hear you speaking the words of your greeting and pronunciation of the names of sun, moon and especially chickadee. I think it’s pretty adorable sounding in English and I use it as a term of
Oh what wonderful events! I am totally thrilled! You have earned your success! Someday I may fulfill my dream of visiting Montana and showing up at one of your readings!
Amazing lineup, Chris, and I couldn’t be happier for you. Excited to see you in Kalispell this weekend, just the first of many of your talks I hope to get to this next year.
So many happenings there around you, involving you - !! And, now you shall be publicly celebrating your Montana Poet Laureate status, which I am still celebrating *with* you. I know that so many of us who kinda sorta know you will be sharing your excitement in spending time with Dr. Robin Wall Kimmerer!!
Chickadees are my favourite, along with Nuthatches..... so, that's TWO favourite songbirds for me. Just yesterday, a chickadee perched on the outer window trim and pecked on the window just "this side" of the feeder. Mister Jones said "it's saying 'thank you.'"
See you next post, Chris. Get all filled up with songbird magic there on your porch. It's good medicine. See you next post.........
Although I will not--to my sincere regret--be able to attend any of these events, I am very happy to support you in your wanderings. I join you through your words on this screen, and that connection is important to me. The recognition that you are receiving for sharing your knowledge, wisdom, and opinions is good to witness. Remember me to all of your relatives, large and small, as you go about your travels. I do the same for you here in the desert.

Wow, Sandy, thanks for this. What a tiny world! Gwen is one of the best people I know and I miss her.
Irritable Events 💯🏆👍 the only kind! Seriously this lineup looks so great.
Thank you, Kara!
SO excited for your Montana Poet Laureatness. :)
😂💚
What a great bunch of upcoming events! Just had to hear someone say Gijigijigaaneshiinh (Chickadee) in Ojibwe, since it looked to be onomatopoeic with their song. Aside from the Ojibwe People's dictionary, I also found this cool little chickadee song - enjoy. https://ojibwe.net/songs/traditional/chickadee/#:~:text=Gijigijigaaneshiinh%20(Chickadee).
This song is everything. ❤️

I love them.
It is a joy to play a small part in supporting your life-affirming irritable work.
Gijigijigaaneshiinh has been visiting the suet feeder on my porch.
Same here!
How I wish I could attend any one of these events -- especially the RWK and yours. Just fantastic --
The RWK thing is a dream come true, really.
