"We are all in this together, my friends. Let’s do what we can to take care of one another."

Congratulations on the book award, Chris! The Irritable Community brought together around your poetry and Becoming Little Shell continues to grow and gives me hope against all odds. We do what we can do.

I think Irritable Reader and The Irritable Community should be trademarked.... :)

Congrats on the awards and recognition. I am halfway through Becoming Little Shell and loving it and I love your ongoing One Sentence Journal posts. We share a strong connection to land and landscape. I came to love the US/Canadian Cordillera through geology rather than family, but I feel very much at home in those ranges and valleys, even though I live in Pennsylvania.

Miigwech, David. Pennsylvania is a beautiful place.

Thank you for including a relief effort for those of my fellow Angelenos devastated by the fires. You are the best. I'm not sure I told you, but I did see your book recently "in the wild" at my neighborhood bookstore, Chevaliers. It was displayed quite prominently, and I was proud to tell them that I "know" you in this way, here. Bravo on all your accomplishments!

I love the way Fact & Fiction displays the Bestsellers in their window with the little blue numbered cards dangling from them. It's such a refreshing counterpoint to anything the New York Times would come up with. 😆 Congratulations Chris!!

F&F does a great job. Miigwech!

Wintering here in Iowa and enjoying the first few pages of your "One-Sentence Journal." 1-1-25 I began authoring my own.

As an aside, in reading your Preface in Journal, I was extra tickled to see the name of one of my favorite authors: Jim Harrison. And to discover two new-to-me titles of his that I need to find. And his connection with Ted Kooser, another bonus bit. Smile.

I love knowing you're going to experience those books for the first time and I love that you told me.

I've given and recommended One Sentence Journals to a number of my friends and family members. Reading it has kept me calm in stressful situations, like doctor's offices, and I will never give away my personal copy.

Wonderful news on the award, the bestselling designation, and all that is going so well for you, Chris! Well earned! I also love ordering from 'Fact and Fiction'! Best wishes for the weekend ROCKIN' Missoula! Sure wish I didn't live as far as Texas, or I'd be there!

Many blessings and MUCH LOVE,

Congrats on your award! Well deserved! My friend who works at Lolo Pass is trying to arrange for their gift shop to carry and sell OSJ, but apparently it has to go through USFS admin to be allowed in their selections. Hopefully it keeps finding new eyes. ✨ and congrats on the AF show. 🤘

Right on! I would love to rock out - but probably not driving to Missoula in the winter after my recent, too long game of "where's the road" coming from Great Falls this weekend! Enjoy!

Expand full comment

I luckily got out of Great Falls last weekend just when the gittin' was gettin' good.

Very luckily. My tiny car crawled through, but it's exhausting searching for relectors in the whiteness - the only way I knew where the road was besides the center drunk bumps! Everyone who passed us was in the ditch as we crawled by. One's tire was completely off - must have hit that bank pretty hard!

And people like us grew up driving shitty cars with bald tires with terrible wipers and barely functional heaters and defrosters all year round and probably never had that happen! 😂

My dad used to point out all the massive dents in the guardrails on the way up the hill to where we lived and say, "You see that? That's all those goddamned Californians!"

Expand full comment

LOL....God we drove some death traps! No heat....trying to defrost the windo with no defrost. Doord didn't open. Slick tires. Still stayed on the road. Damn Californians! haha
