Chris- I always look forward to reading your Substack and was so touched and surprised today when you shined a light on 1666: A Novel. KeNa- thank you so much. ☀️🪶📚 BLS was so inspiring- looking forward to reading your other work!

You are quite welcome, Lora. It's a wonderful book and I've been meaning to mention it for months.

Thanks for the tip about The Pulp. I don't live in Missoula anymore, so didn't know it existed. When I go back for visits, though, I still feel the loss of The Independent. And, thanks for the reminder about your anthology contributions! I think my husband would really like the trail essays! (Also, do not stop sharing your good news. We need good news so badly, and it is wonderful to be able to celebrate for/with you!)

I feel the loss of the Independent too. It has been a huge blow to the community.

I'm delighted to learn that you have not one, but two other books I can look forward to reading after BLS.

I love Chandra Brown’s description of you as a “pollinator.” What a wonderful thing to be in the world! (Also, I love The Pulp - they’ve put out a lot of great long-form pieces, including this one.)
